COVENT GARDEN

Easter in London is a great time for performing at Covent Garden Market, it's neither too hot, nor too cold, it rains infrequently and there are very many families looking for entertainment.

I arrived in London Heathrow on Tuesday morning at a cheery 6.30 am, collected my bags, had a coffee while I established phone service, then took the Elizabeth line into central London. Arriving on the West Piazza of the marketplace, I was able to enter the daily draw for shows (there were about 20 other acts, many of whom are old friends). I get the 11.20am slot, nice!

It was a lovely show and the excitement of the being back in London, and the thrill of the journey, gave me enough energy to have a very nice opening show indeed.

Thursday morning blessed me with the 2 pm afternoon prime-time show on the West Piazza of Covent Garden. The weather was perfect, and the crowd immediately liked me. I think the Ring my Bell routine is finally where I would like it to be!

For my cigar box routine, I always need the help of a child, this time I picked a 9-year-old from Spain. After she has taken her applause and her prize, the show continues to it ending, where I am balancing on the rope and juggling my knives. After the audience have showed me their appreciation, the family of my young Spanish volunteer approach me. "Look, look" one of them says showing me his phone, it was the picture below. Wow!

Amazing! Yes, that is myself 30 years ago. See, I haven't changed at all. And the below is a picture of the show they watched on Thursday 17th April 2025.

Thank you, Jordie Spinar and family, for coming back to my show and I sincerely hope that it will be before thirty more years that we meet again.
